Mâkhi Xenakis is a French painter, sculptor and writer, born in 1956 in Paris.
She lives and works in Paris.

In 1987 she was awarded the Villa Médicis Hors les murs Bursary, section painting, which enabled her to move to New York, where she lived for 2 years.

During this time, she met Louise Bourgeois, with whom she published in 1998 Louise Bourgeois, the blind Leading the blind.
Her first solo exhibition took place in 1985 at the Bruno Facchetti Gallery in New York.

In 2002, at the Zadkine Museum in Paris, she had a personal exhibition, Morceaux where she presented sculptures and pastels.
At the same time, she launched her eponymous book produced with Jean Fremon, at Ed. L’Echoppe.

In 2004, she exhibited her sculptures Les folles d'enfer de la Salpêtrière, at the Chapelle et Jardins de la Salpêtrière in Paris.

In 2009, she was part of the exhibition Elles@centrepompidou that took place at the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris.

In 2014 she took part of the exhibition Thebai at the Musée de la Chasse in Paris.

In 2017, she exhibited pastels and sculptures at the Domaine de Chaumont sur Loire, France.

In 2020, she presented two groups of sculptures: Les folles d’enfer and Les rencontres Possibles au Musée de l'Hospice Saint Roch d'Issoudun, France.

Makhi Xenakis's work is part of prestigious public collections such as the Fond National d'art Contemporain Paris, the Centre Georges Pompidou, cabinet d'art graphique, the Manufacture de Sèvres et des Gobelins and Bibliothèque National de France.

Her work was acquired by private collectors: Florence et Daniel Guerlain, Antoine de Galbert, Cottrell-Lovett Collection in New York among others.
